Parks

Under the direction of Parks and Recreation Superintendent Dale Hyche, our employees strive to provide the citizens of Gardendale with attractive, well-maintained facilities. Our parks are strategically placed throughout the city, most within walking distance of large subdivisions.

At Bill Noble Park, there are 9 baseball fields, 1 football field, 8 tennis courts, 11 Pickleball, and a playground.

At Luman Harris Park, located off Pineywood Road, we are proud to offer an entire park dedicated to girls' softball and Gardendale’s Miracle League. Add in the playground and it is a great place for families to enjoy on the weekends.

The Mini Park, located off of Keith Circle, offers a playground and basketball court in a quiet, shaded area.

Our Soccer Complex is located off Fieldstown Road. There are 2 regulation soccer fields, a flag football field, and a walking track. Celebration Park was added in May of 2007. The Splash Pad opened on September 1, 2008 and to date remains one of the most popular attractions within our City Park System.

With all of the youth programs associated with these parks, it would not be possible without the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who participate in various associations. Our extreme appreciation goes out to all of these people.

Also, one of our department’s main attributes is our ongoing efforts in beautification and landscaping throughout the city. We have planted approximately 2,500 crape myrtles along with several other species of trees and shrubs. As a participant in the “America in Bloom” program, our city has been recognized nationally for its beautification efforts.

We would like to invite you to visit all of our parks and we welcome suggestions in making our parks, and our department, the very best they can be.
