The Gardendale Police Department was created on July 7, 1955. Since its beginning to today, the members of the department work very diligently to provide professional law enforcement services to the citizens of Gardendale and maintain one of the lowest crime rates in Jefferson County.

Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Gardendale Police Department to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working within the community to improve quality of life. Our mandate is to do so with honor and integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards to promote public confidence in the police service.

Sex Offender Notice
In order to keep the public informed on the location of convicted sex offenders, the Gardendale Police Department maintains a sex offender notification procedure and registry through Watch Systems and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
