Welcome to the beautiful City of Gardendale, Alabama. Gardendale is a community with all the amenities of big city life. Located only eight miles from downtown Birmingham, our citizens can enjoy arts, concerts, sporting and fitness events and all the conveniences of metropolitan living, while being part of a vibrant community with much to offer locally.The City of Gardendale is growing and changing. As Mayor, it is my intention to ensure that this change and growth is a true benefit to our community.

  • We now have more than 400 businesses, 16,444 residents (an 18.4 % growth rate -2010 census), four public and two private schools, and approximately thirty churches.
  • New retail construction is currently under way with more scheduled in the near future. If you are looking for a place to live or open a business, you will find that Gardendale offers some of the finest opportunities available anywhere.
