All of our public Schools here in Gardendale consistently rank at the top academically in the Jefferson County School System. In 2006, the Mayor and Council created the Citizens' Education Committee, made up of community leaders and parents. This committee gives a community voice to all of our schools and makes sure the future stays bright for our children.

In addition, the individual schools each boast very active PTAs where combined volunteer hours number in the thousands each semester. There are two private grade schools in Gardendale and several private pre-schools.
