 Peggy
Tumlin
District I
Peggy Tumlin was elected to the council for
Ward I in 2000. A native of Gardendale and
retired from Allstate Insurance company with
37 years of qualified leadership, she is anxious
to serve the citizens of Gardendale. She is
married to Charles Tumlin. They have one son,
Chuck Tumlin, who attended Gardendale High
School. He now resides in Charlotte, North
Carolina, with his career. Peggy is a member
of the Gardendale United Methodist Church and
the Gardendale Chamber of Commerce along with
being very active in her community. As
a council member, she has been assigned the
Chairperson for the Public Utilities & Inspections,
Library and the Education Committees. She is
also a member of the Finance & Insurance
Committee and the Public Safety Committee.

City council meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Mondays
of each month. Council meetings are held at City Hall, which is located at
the intersection of Fieldstown Road and Main Street. Citizens are invited to
