Faith
Harper
District IV
Proudly representing District 4, Faith Harper
makes her first appearance to city government
in November 2008. After obtaining a Finance
degree from the University of Alabama College
of Commerce and Business Administration in
1985, Faith began a banking career at the Federal
Reserve Bank in Birmingham with management
assignments in the Computer Services, Cash
Services, and Personnel Departments. Following
her 1987 marriage to Ted Harper of Cullman
County, Ted and Faith (a Ft. Payne native)
made Gardendale their home.
In
2000, Faith obtained her real estate license
and began a second career as a Realtor with
RealtySouth. Faith has served her company and
her association vigorously over the last eight
years. In 2009, Faith will Chair the Public
Relations Committee at the Birmingham Association
of Realtors and serve the Alabama Association
of Realtors as a Director. In 2008, Faith became
a Life Member in the Club of Excellence at
the BAR and holds three distinguished certifications:
ABR – Accredited Buyer Representative,
CRS – Certified Residential Specialist,
and GRI – Graduate Realtor Institute.
Faith
has long had an interest in the business
affairs and the economic development of Gardendale
and believes her long-term involvement in the
community with organizations like the Chamber
of Commerce have prepared her for this public
role. “Gardendale is without question
the city of choice north of metropolitan Birmingham.
Our job as elected officials is to visualize
our dream, capitalize on our advantages, and
execute a plan to secure and sustain our quality
of life now and for generations to come.”
Faith
will chair the Public Safety Committee and
serve on the Finance, Inspections, and
Public Works & Public Utilities Committees.
She is also the liaison to the Beautification
Board.
Faith
and Ted have one daughter, Savannah Marie,
who is currently a senior at Tabernacle
Christian School in Gardendale. The Harpers
are members of Gardendale’s First Baptist
Church.
Faith invites the citizens of Gardendale,
particularly those in District 4, to attend
her town hall meetings
