The City of Gardendale operates under a Mayor-Council form of government. This form of government most closely resembles the private sector with the Mayor serving as the Chief Executive Officer and the Council as the Board of Directors.
The Mayor is elected at-large for a four-year term. The City Council members are elected by district for terms of four years. The latest municipal election was held the fourth Tuesday in August 2008 - August 26, 2008. Municipal election Information is available on the home page of this website or by contacting the city clerk at 631-8789. The Alabama Secretary of State website contains valuable information about elections. www.sos.state.al.us
The Mayor and City Council work as a team with the City of Gardendale
employees to provide the public with:
A safe community in which to live and work
Services delivered courteously and professionally.
Fiscal responsibility with accountability.
Convenient opportunities for recreation.
The elected officials and employees recognize that if they accomplish these
goals the City of Gardendale will always be a desirable place in which to
live and work.

Phillips. Please use the menu to the right to visit each council member's page.
