Meet
The City Council
City council
meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third
Mondays of each month. Council meetings are held at City Hall, which is
located at the intersection of Fieldstown Road and Main Street.
Citizens are invited to attend. For additional information, contact

William
(Bill) Flippo was elected in l972 to represent Ward IV. Currently in
his eighth term, Bill serves as Mayor Pro Tem, Chairman of the
Finance and the Senior Citizens Building committees, and was
designated as a Certified Municipal Official by the Alabama League
of Municipalities in 1999. He also serves as chairman on the Public Works
Committee and Public Utilities & Inspection Committee and is a
member of the Finance & Insurance Committee, as well as the Planning
and Zoning Board. Bill is a member of the Gardendale
Chamber of Commerce, the Civitans, Gardendale's First Baptist
Church, the Masonic Lodge, and was a fireman in the City's volunteer
fire department for 16 years. He retired from
American Cast Iron Pipe Company at the end of 2002 after 37 years of
service. He has been married to the former Linda Hightower for 40
years. They have two daughters, Debbie Hurst
and Cynthia Stewart, and four grandchildren. |
